Fortunately there is a work-around for this. <br><br>On F-Droid, the <a href="https://f-droid.org/en/packages/us.spotco.maps/">GMaps WV</a> app will use and abuse Google Maps to get the coordinates of the address you seek, and then forward them to the open-source Navigation App of your choice, all the while blocking Google's telemetry attempts.<br><br>Two popular open-source navigation apps are <a href="https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.osmand.plus/">OsmAnd</a> and <a href="https://f-droid.org/en/packages/app.organicmaps/">Organic Maps</a>. Both are available from the F-Droid App Store.<br><br>Thanks to GMaps WV, the issue of not being able to find addresses has been mitigated until OpenStreet Maps gets to where address lookup works. OpenStreet Maps has made huge improvements in this area just in the last year.<br><br>⚡️ [Follow](<a href="/author/npub1fkluklzamwpyn7w8awxzrcqe7z8mldlvthk4gz9kz3vsh6udz62s9qj48l/">Freedom Tech</a>) | 🗣 <a href="%5Bnostr:nevent1qqsyle9lxzgt5zvd84yhvcdgm7mtthuva2fn076nhzd6qaxd4jyudzqzypxmljmuthdcyj0ecl4ccg0qr8cgl0aha3w764qgkc29jzlt35tf2qcyqqqqq2q4hy6hy%5D(nostr:nevent1qqsyle9lxzgt5zvd84yhvcdgm7mtthuva2fn076nhzd6qaxd4jyudzqzypxmljmuthdcyj0ecl4ccg0qr8cgl0aha3w764qgkc29jzlt35tf2qcyqqqqq2q4hy6hy)">Discuss</a><br><br><a href='/tag/navigation/'>#Navigation</a> <a href='/tag/foss/'>#FOSS</a> <a href='/tag/googlemapsreplacement/'>#GoogleMapsReplacement</a> <a href='/tag/osmand/'>#OsmAnd</a> <a href='/tag/organicmaps/'>#OrganicMaps</a> <a href='/tag/degoogledphones/'>#DeGoogledPhones</a> <a href='/tag/freeyourtech/'>#FreeYourTech</a></p>
